Cancer treatment centre to be built in Cape Coast

According to her, recorded cases of the disease indicate that one out of five die from cancer.

She noted with concern that many parents could not afford treatment considering the high cost involved and stressed the need for such parents to be supported to seek treatment and care for their children. 

Mrs Mitchell said the proposed centre would be managed in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast Medical School and appealed to corporate organisations and individuals to support the foundation.

The Director of the Central Regional hospital, Dr Daniel Asare, thanked the foundation for the gesture.

He said childhood cancers were a serious predicament affecting many families and called for support for the foundation to build the centre to help in the effective treatment of the desease.
