He said majority of Ghanaians were suffering and what was important was for the government to bring all stakeholders on board to help fix the economy.

"What we need now as a country is for all hands to be on deck to fix the collapsing economy and so government must position itself well to attract all stakeholders rather than politicise issues about the economy of the country," he stressed.

Mr Bin Salih, who was interacting with the Daily Graphic in Wa, said, " It is sad that the government attributed the challenges facing the country's economy to the implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy.”

That, he said, had nothing to do with the difficulties confronting the  economy, particularly "when the NDC used the policy for its campaign".

Touching on the recent tariff increases, the NPP second vice-chairman added his voice to calls on the government to revisit the increases, saying " salaries of workers must be adjusted to relieve workers of the huge financial burden".

He noted for instance that the recent tariff increase was taking a serious toll on the people of the Upper West, especially business activities.

He said it had largely affected productivity in the region and had even restrained many people from patronising the grinding mill due to higher charges.

He further appealed to the government to work assiduously to construct the Wa-Tumu- Bolgatanga and the Wa-Sawla- Fufulso roads which connect the Upper West to the two other regions of the north.

On recent events in the NPP, Mr Bin Salih asked members of the party to stop washing their dirty linen in public.

He also called for unity and said, " As a party which strongly believes in democracy, we must do everything in line with the constitution of our party".

To this end, Mr Bin Salih called on the leadership of the party to put on hold, discussions on electing a flag bearer now and finish with the grassroot elections .
