Atwima Kwanwoma District Chief Executive (DCE) Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi has donated food items to support Muslims in the district on the observation of Ramadan.

The food items, valued at GH¢18,400, comprised 100 bags of rice, 40 boxes of cooking oil and 20 bags of sugar.

At a presentation ceremony at Foase, the district capital, the DCE said it was the desire of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to always support Muslims during their special occasions.

He said as representatives of the President in the district, the assembly could not sit on the fence and watch Muslims in the area observe their special fasting and prayers in disdain.

He said Zongo development was dear to the heart of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), therefore, showing benevolence to the Muslim community during an occasion such as Ramadan was part and parcel of his party’s philosophy.

He, however, urged representatives of the Muslims in the district who took delivery of the food items to be sincere as they shared the items among themselves.

The Secretary of the Kotwi Muslim Community, Dr Suleiman Ahmed, who received the items on behalf of his people, expressed appreciation to the DCE.

He prayed that Allah would continue to shower blessings on the NPP government and protect the district and the entire country from the snares of the evil one.
