The computers with accessories, valued at GH¢18,000, were given to the Abuakwa State College, the East Akyem Municipal Assembly, the Health Directorate, the District Court, Ofori Panin Fie, Kyebi Secondary Technical Senior High School and the Kyebi Police.

At Akyem Maase, one of the communities visited, Mr Atta Akyea decided to settle the utility bills of the town’s health centre which had not been paid and had accumulated to the tune of GH¢1,200.

He also decided to renovate two buildings, one at Akyem Maase to house a medical assistant posted to the town’s heath centre, and another one at Kyebi to accommodate a dentist attached to the government hospital.

Addressing the people, Mr Atta Akyea said it was his responsibility to improve on health and information communication technology in the area,  the reason for the initiative.

He told the people that since the provision of medical equipment and computers alone would not improve their health and technological know-how, they should at all times try to live healthy lifestyles and learn to use the computers.
