He said as a result of lack of enough dormitories, the school could admit only 500 students out of the expected thousand.

He said as the Member of Parliament for the area, he could only offer his widow’s mite and it was left up to the government to also come with the necessary support to help develop the Asuogyaman District.

Mr Ameyaw made the call during an interview with the Daily Graphic during the launch of the 125th anniversary of the Victory Congregation of the  Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Apeguso in the Eastern Region.

He said the area had a lot of potential which must be harnessed and therefore said in view of this, his office was working assiduously to develop the human resource base of the area, particularly the youth who were predominantly farmers.

"Scholarships and other forms of assistance have been given out and it is my hope that in the not-too-distant future, this will start bearing fruits," he added.

Mr Ameyaw commended the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for its contribution towards the development efforts of the area.

He was of the belief that with the support of all stakeholders and partners in development, most of the challenges facing the area could be tackled.

Launching the year-long anniversary, Reverend Alex Owusu Addo said the celebration was to show the congregation's appreciation to God for his mercies.

"As we celebrate our anniversary, we have to raise our voices to God and feel his presence," he said.

He warned against the teachings of false prophets, which  have led a number of people astray and said as Christians,  they should rely on God  and  the  Bible  for guidance.
