Asunafo North confirms MCE

Members of the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly have confirmed the incumbent Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Mohammed Kwaku Doku, for a second term in office.

At a meeting of the general assembly at Goaso last Friday when 39 assembly members voted on his re-nomination by the President, he polled 36 votes,  with only three being against him.

Before the voting, a number of assembly members had expressed satisfaction with the output of the MCE in the last four years. They mentioned the numerous development projects undertaken in the communities under the leadership of Alhaji Doku and expressed confidence in him to  continue steering the affairs of the municipality.

In his victory speech, the MCE thanked the assembly for the endorsement and gave the assurance that it was going to ginger him to work more to uplift Asunafo North.

“The confidence reposed in me is a sign of your appreciation of what I have done in the past four years and I promise I will not fail the people,” he said.

The MCE also thanked President John Dramani Mahama for nominating him for the position, assuring him that “I will not disappoint the President.”
