Assign more women roles in governance - Essipon chief

She said even though there were many women in the NDC who could help him govern, for the sake of national cohesion, President Mahama should consider others too.

She said when women were assigned responsibilities in nation building, they performed to promote growth and peace.

In congratulating President Mahama on his election for a four-year term of office, Nana Abuna contended that the leader of a nation was selected by God and quoted Prov. 29:2 from the Bible, to support her claim.

She recalled the promise that was made by the late President John Atta Mills that he was going to be father for all which she said, he demonstrated before his untimely demise and noted that President Mahama has also said, he will be president for all, ‘ therefore, I know he will succeed.” she added.

Nana Abuna said she saw the president’s demeanor as that of a humble man and with the confidence reposed in him, he should glorify God who gave him the glory and the victory, by working for the people as he has promised.

She prayed for God’s guidance for the President-Elect and impressed on all to remember that peace was priceless, adding that now that the elections are over, it is time for all to rally behind the elected president todevelop of the country.
