All the aspirants contesting for Chairman, Vice-Chairman,  General Secretary and Treasurer took their grilling interview sessions which lasted the whole day.

For the chairman position the incumbent Vice-Chairman, Mr Fred Oware, was the first to  be vetted followed by the incumbent Chairman, Mr Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey. Mr Paul Afoko and Stephen Ntim followed.

All the aspirants came out with broad smiles as a show of confidence and good things to happen.

The atmosphere was  charged with the arrival of Paul Afoko just  a minute or so after the arrival of Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey around 2 pm  at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.

Immediately they all stepped out of their vehicles at separate intervals they were surrounded by supporters  while the mediamen also tried to  get the scoop. Mr Oware was the first to arrive while Mr Ntim was the last with all of them showing a great amount of confidence.

The General Secretary position is being  contested by incumbent  Mr John Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, aka Sir John, Mr Kwabena Agyepong, Mr Nkrabea Effah Dartey and Mr Yaw Buabeng Asamoah aka YB. They all spoke to the press and espoused their credentials for the job.

For  Mr Afriyie he insisted that the NPP won the 2012  elections  through hard work but was robbed of victory.

Mr Nkrabea Effah Dartey touted his experience and background as a lawyer and soldier that made him stand tall to take on the demanding job of General Secretary.

Mr Buabeng said he had toured most constituencies and the feedback was that his message of protecting the ballot boxes to ensure free and fair  2016 elections had won him many supporters.

On arrival Mr Kwabena Agyepong was upbeat. He has been campaigning on what he calls ‘’redemptive mission’’ for  NPP victory in 2016.

A   man and three women faced the nine-member vetting committee chaired by Mr C. K. Tedem for the treasurer position. They  were  Mr Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah,  Mrs Esther Ofori,  Mrs  Sussie Mensah and Hajia Ruka Ahmed.
