Addressing a mini durbar, the deputy Volta Regional Minister, Mr Henry Ametefe said the red and black clothes alone signified the state of deep mourning of the people since death was the most undesirable element on mankind .
He lauded them for their love for peace unlike some communities that were broiled in hostilities that brought untold hardship to their people.
Mr Ametefe commended the President for appointing a woman to replace the departed regional minister.
In a tribute read on behalf of the Asogli State Council, a divisional chief of Ho-Asogli and chief of Ho-Ahoe, Togbe Kasa III said the late regional minister would be remembered for setting a road map for the construction of an access road from the Ho Dome Awatidome Community to the Volta Regional Hospital.
“Within a short period of his tenure in the region, we found him to be hardworking, humble but firm, with a quiet and pleasant disposition. His doors were always open to everybody.
He believed in practical, tactful and speedy resolution of problems , a prerequisite for his rapid development agenda. The urgency and tact with which he stemmed the recent unfortunate violent conflict between the indigenes of Hohoe and the Zongo community deserve special commendation”, he stated.
Togbe Kasa said love and respect for tradition and culture was evident in how Mr Kamel related to the chiefs and elders , this endeared him to them so much that they were saddened by his untimely and sudden death.
