Alexander Ackon wins close contest at Obuasi West

Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, John Alexander Ackon picked the single slot at Obuasi West to contest on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.

He polled 1,062 to beat is fellow contestant Dr Nsian Yaw Peprah who polled 1,028.
It will be Mr Ackon's second attempt at the seat, having lost in the first contest to the NPP.
