Advocacy group commends govt
An Advocacy group on good governance based in the Upper East Region has commended President Nana Akufo-Addo for appointing some indigenes from the region as ministers.

The group known as BONABOTO, an acronym for Bolgatanga, Nangodi, Bongo and Tongo people who form the group.
Those appointed as ministers are Mr Kofi Adda, Minister for Water and Sanitation; Mr Mustapha Amid, Minister for Information; Mr Rockson Ayine Bukari, Minister for Upper East Region, and Major General William Azure Ayamdo, the Chief of the Army Staff.
This was contained in a statement released in Accra by the President of the Association, Dr Andrews Akolaa.

BANABOTO welcomed the appointments and thanked the President for the confidence reposed in the appointees.
The group expressed its readiness to support them to develop the country in general and the Upper East Region in particular.
The statement said during BONABOTO's 10th Biennial National Delegates Congress held in December 2016, members expressed great concern about certain development projects such as the modernisation of agricultural practices that could withstand climate change, the upgrading of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, for which the association assisted in acquiring two plots of land, and other facilities.
The statement noted that “if those projects are executed within the Upper East Region, they will help alleviate poverty in the region.”
