Accept election results - Apostle Otoo urges candidates

The General Overseer of The Lord’s Pentecostal Church International (TLPCI), Apostle Eric Essandoh Otoo, has called on the leadership of political parties to accept the results of the 2020 general elections in good faith.

He said the leadership of the parties must also sensitise their followers to accept the results peacefully to help preserve the peace and stability in the country.

Apostle Otoo also called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to be diligent in the execution of its duty to help bolster confidence in the electoral process ahead of the exercise on December 7.

He further entreated all stakeholders of the electoral process to be circumspect with their utterances before, during and after the elections.

Annual confab

The general overseer of the church was addressing the annual general conference in Accra.

The conference affords the church the opportunity to take stock of its activities and account to the council of the TLPCI.

This year’s event was on the theme: ‘God Our Guide Forever’, and followed the election of new executives for the church in September.

It was graced by the Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyinasare.

Impact of COVID-19

Apostle Otoo said although the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak had slowed down plans of most churches and Christians, TLPCI had not given up but had adapted to the situation.

“It rather taught them new ways of doing new things,” he said.

He said the church also utilised social media platforms such as Zoom and Facebook to reach out to many more members and potential ones when the pandemic forced the closure of places of worship.

He added that in spite of the pandemic, the church was able to achieve its targets and expressed the hope that the successes achieved would spur the members on to work harder.
