The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Health (MoH), has initiated a programme to visit 874 senior high schools (SHSs) in the country and organise a programme to sensitise the students to the early symptoms and prevention of Ebola and cholera.

According to the Deputy Representative of UNICEF, Ms Rushnan Murtaza, officials from the organisations would visit public and private senior high schools in the country to conduct seminars on both diseases as well as promote hand washing with soap.
At the launch of the programme in Accra, Ms Murtaza said the programme, intended to reach 750,000 senior high school students, would create awareness on the symptoms, prevention of the diseases and improve health behaviours.
