PKB Kumor inspires Millennium Excellence Award for Weija-Gbawe

The immediate-past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, has inspired a Millennium Excellence Award in Sanitation for the assembly with his Public Service Award in Health and Sanitation.

Dubbed NDPC/MEF National District Awards 2024, the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), the Millennium Excellence Foundation (MEF), and partners will honour the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly at an event to be graced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Hall on Friday, March 1, 2024.

"It is our distinguished honour and privilege to inform you that, having been adjudged THE MOST OUTSTANDING IN SANITATION in the 2022 District League Table on Sanitation, the Millennium Excellence Foundation and partners wish to award the Weija-Gbawe MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY...As the Assembly with the highest score in the highly challenging field of sanitation in Ghana, we can only imagine the amount of work required of you to achieve this enviable position and it will be our extreme pleasure to honour you," the notice of award read.

In an interview, Mr. Kumor expressed appreciation for the honour and recognition from the Millennium Excellence Foundation. He emphasized that it reflects the collective effort of the assembly and commitment to excellence in governance, inspiring continuous service to the community with dedication and innovation.

"I also wish the new MCE well to protect and continue with the legacy left behind," Mr. Kumor concluded.

It will be recalled that Mr. Kumor won the African Public Service Optimum (APSO) Award in Health and Sanitation last December.
