Minister donates adjustable beds to hospitals in Bosomtwe
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, has presented 30 pieces of adjustable hospital beds to three hospitals in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region.
The hospitals were the Kuntanase Government Hospital, St. Michaels Hospital and Jachie Health Centre.

Per the ratio of distribution, 15 of the beds would be given to Kuntanase Government Hospital, 10 to St. Michaels Hospital, and the remaining five to Jachie Health Centre.

Mr Osei-Mensah said the gesture for instance, would increase the bed capacity of Kuntanase Government Hospital from 45 to 60 and consequently improve healthcare delivery in the district.
He expressed his gratitude to the district for rallying behind him since his days as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the area till now.
According to him, this enormous support from his home district would make him the longest-serving Ashanti Regional Minister by the end of 2022.
"On how we got the beds, a good friend of mine had the opportunity, so I also expressed interest and applied and the benefactors approved my request. I strongly believe that this would save a lot of lives, and attract more blessings to us all. But for the immense support of Bosomtwe District, I would not have risen to become the Ashanti Regional Minister," he said.
"President Nana Akufo-Addo handed me the opportunity because of the strides I made as a three-term Member of Parliament for the area. By the end of November this year, I would be the longest-serving regional minister in the region," he added.
The Regional Minister hinted that another consignment of hospital equipment would soon be delivered to the district.
The District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe, Joseph Kwasi Asuming, expressed appreciation to the regional minister for the commendable gesture to the district.
He noted that the district would continue to offer its support, to enable him to carry out his mandate.
The DCE, therefore, implored the hospital administrators to take good care of the beds.
The Sodoohene, Nana Opoku Asare, praised the regional minister for his efforts to improve healthcare in the area.
He, however, appealed to the government to make more effort because there are numerous unanswered requests by the district.
"We thank the minister for the gesture. In fact, we the chiefs are very elated, but our expectations have not really been met yet. As managers of our economy, it is our wish that you keep us in your thoughts and help us deal with the challenges we face here," he said.
