KNUST Alumni Association supports Ayeduase Community Clinic

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Alumni Association has given a lifeline to the Ayeduase Community Clinic, a budding community clinic with the presentation of a GH¢5,000 worth of assorted drugs.

The drugs are to cushion the overburdened clinic, which currently serves at least 13 other communities and to serve as a stopgap following the destruction of the Central Medical Stores in Tema through fire.

The Alumni was following up on a health screening for communities around KNUST last October to round up its 8th biennial congress.

It was the first time the former Child Welfare Clinic turned into a community clinic in 2008, was being presented with drugs on gratis.

Indeed the Alumni had to settle on Ayeduase only after balloting as there were other clinics needing support.

The Alumni Officer and Coordinator, Mr Festus Nyame, led a team of executives to present the items which included Artefan malaria drugs and dietary supplements.

The Principal Midwifery Officer, Regina Lily Loglo, the Metro Pharmacist, Mavis Britwum, as well as the Adontehene of Ayeduase, Nana Oduro Ofrikyi, were all full of praise for the gesture and expressed the hope the relationship between the two would be deepened.
