Akropong: Ezekiel Ansah Foundation holds breast cancer clinic
A surgeon Dr Charles Arhinful says breast cancer can be cured if it detected early and has thus challenged women to subject themselves to breast examinations to detect any anomalies swiftly.
He has also warned against resorting to any other forms of treating the ailment aside the scientifically approved method.

Dr Arhinful mentioned that living an unhealthy lifestyle such as bad eating habits, lack of fibre in diets, excessive drinking and eating fatty foods accelerates the mortality rate of the disease on the continent.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In a keynote address to mark breast cancer awareness month at Akropong in the Eastern last Thursday, Dr Arhinful illustrated how the disease affects both men and women in a PowerPoint presentation.
"Breast cancer affects both men and women, an individual must make a conscious and deliberate effort at physically examining him or herself regularly in front of the mirror to detect lumps in the breast and watch out for changes in the breast," he told a packed crowd of inhabitants of Akropong at the clinic.

He also advised against the notion that treatment for the disease is very expensive.
In a speech read on his behalf, the president of the Ezekiel Ansah Foundation, Ezekiel Ansah who is also the Abrahene of Akuapem Traditional Council cautioned Ghanaians against the dangers of breast cancer.
He mentioned that the disease claimed the lives of two of his aunties.
He added that the Foundation will increase its breast cancer awareness creation efforts at Akropong and other communities in Ghana.
Participants at the clinic, mostly women were screened for breast cancer by Dr Charles Arhinful.
