Ghana Library Authority launches writing competition

The Ghana Library Authority (GLA) has launched a story writing competition for young people.

It is meant to keep  them busy during the stay-at-home period because of the COVID-19.

The competition, dubbed: “National Short Story Writing Challenge”, seeks  to inspire young writers nationwide to showcase their creative and critical thinking skills.

Young people between the ages of nine and 18 are required to write short stories on any topic of their interest  which will be uploaded on the Ghana Library App for a bigger audience.

Launching the competition, the Executive Director of the Ghana Library Authority, Mr Hayford Siaw, stated, “We all know the crisis the whole world is facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Schools and other places which will intellectually engage children have all been shut down.

Therefore, we are launching this challenge to encourage young writers and to intellectually engage them at home<
