Woyome to open defence of no case
Businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome has served notice of filing a defence of no case in the ongoing GHC 51 million cedis paid to him as consent judgement debt.

This became necessary when the Chief State Attorney, Mr. Matthew Amponsah ended calling prosecution witnesses to testify.
ASP Odamme Otchere was the last prosecution witness to be cross examined by Lawyer Osarfo Boabeng, counsel for Mr. Woyome.
Lawyer Osarfo Boabeng dropped the hint of filing defence of no case in court on Monday.
He is expected to file a written application on February 17.
After filing the written application on the next adjourned date, Lawyer Osarfo Boabeng might argue that all the nine prosecution witnesses he cross examined failed to provide substantial evidence to back their claims that the GHC 51 million was wrongfully paid to his client.
It will be recalled that the Attorney Generals Department dragged Mr. Woyome to court seeking to retrieve the GHC 51 million paid to him as consent judgement debt on grounds that it was fraudulently paid.
Hearing of the case halted when the former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Mr. Martin Amidu dragged Mr. Woyome, the Attorney General, Waterville Holding (BV) Limited and Austro-Investment Management Limited to court to challenge the GHC 51 million paid as consent judgement debt.
