Mr Woyome was acquitted and discharged last Thursday. He had been charged by the state for causing financial loss and defrauding by false pretense in the matter of the GhȻ51.2million judgment debt.

The AG has appealed the case and Mr Woyome has been served with the appeal.

In a letter issued on Monday by Mr Woyome alleged that the Mrs Appiah-Opong was biased and unfit to be the chief legal advisor of the president.

In the letter, Mr Woyome said, prior to becoming the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mrs Appiah-Opong and her firm benefited partly from the GhȻ51.2million he was paid in 2010.

"I find it difficult to reconcile your decision to involve yourself directly in this criminal case and notice of appeal you have authorized to be issued and served on me.

"It is a fact that you and clients received approximately US$1million equivalent in Ghana cedis from the said judgment debt you now so much criminalize and want me jailed for," he said in the letter.

But in a response, Mrs Appiah-Opong said she has seen Mr Woyome’s letter and described it as: “The letter is rambling, it is dishonest, it is unnecessary and it is a move to throw dust in the eyes of Ghanaians”

"Listen, if Mr Woyome is confident that the appeal will fail, why doesn’t he save his breath for the Court of Appeal where three law lords will determine the merits of appeal."

"As a sit here, I have the full support of his Excellency the President to pursue this case, so if he thinks this is going to throw me off, then he should come again and think again, it is not going to throw me off."

"I’m pursuing the appeal; I’m pursuing the recovery of the funds in the Supreme Court."

Mrs Appiah-Opong said her firm has always sued him (Woyome).
