Women advised to harness their potential

The Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood, has advised women to utilise their God-given talents to harness their potential.

She said women possessed innovative skills which must be tapped to solve the myriad of problems that confronted society.

The Chief Justice made the remarks at the 20th anniversary thanksgiving service of the Royal Ladies Ministry International, the Women's Fellowship of the Royal House Chapel International, in Accra.

Hard work

According to her, women needed to work hard to succeed in all their endeavours. She, therefore, called on organisations, institutions, philanthropists and other public-spirited Ghanaians to support the Royal Ladies Ministry for a worthy cause.

Mrs Wood encouraged the women to have a closer relationship with God and take His work seriously, adding that God had a special mission and vision for women, for they have been created to show immense love, care and compassion to those in need and in distress.

The President of the ministry, Rev. Mrs Rita Korankye-Ankrah, said 20 years in the life of an association of women was no mean achievement. She said: “Twenty years down the line, the lives of many of the members have been transformed spiritually, physically, academically, emotionally, socially and economically.”

Success story

Rev. (Mrs) Korankye-Ankrah started the ministry in 1994 at Blackmore and Sons at Kokomlemle, with the full support of her husband, Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah, the General Overseer of Royal House Chapel International and 12 women who bought into her dream.

Today, the Royal Ladies Ministry International, with its motto “Arise and Shine”, has grown in leaps and bounds, with a membership of over 10,000. It has branches in all the regions of Ghana and affiliates all over the world.
