Peter Abum-Sarkodie, a former MP for Mampong in Ashanti, was appointed on June 5, 2017 as the Ag. Executive Director of the EPA subject to the advice of the governing board and in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

“As a result, you were to act in that office, pending the advice of the governing board of EPA, which advice has been received by this Office.

“Regrettably, the President is obliged to withdraw your appointment in the face of the advice of the governing board of the EPA, which does not find you a suitable candidate for the position.

“You are, thus, directed to vacate the office of the Executive Director and hand over to the Deputy Executive Director (Field Operations), Mr. John Pwamang, by close of day on Friday, 13th April, 2018,” said the letter copied to the Vice President, Chief of Staff, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Chairperson of the Public Services Commission.
