He also entreated them to live exemplorary lives for their pupils and students to emulate.

‘’Teachers are the light of the world. You must, therefore, continue to impart wisdom, knowledge and understanding in whatever you are engaged in, especially teaching. Continue to be an example and role model to the young ones under your care,’’ he added.

Mr Ansah gave the commendation when he addressed teachers at Asuogyaman at a maiden edition of the inter zonal fun games to commemorate the 57th Republic Day Anniversary at the Akwamuman Senior High school at Akosombo in the Eastern Region. The programme, which brought teachers in the district together to share professional ideas in teaching was also used for a free health screening exercise.

Mr  Ansah also urged the teachers to inculcate the spirit of togetherness and unity in the children in order for such virtues to reflect in their lives and the larger society.

‘’Teach the children the values that will make them become dependable and reliable and above all, trustworthy leaders who would steer the country to prosperity,’’ he added.

Mr Ansah further advised teachers  to get involved in the social and political matters of the Asuogyaman District to enable them to contribute effectively to the accelerated development of the area.

He pledged to donate trophies for various sporting events in the area next year.
