Sakina Amoah is Face of Nsuansa 2019/2020

A Form Three student of the Agona Nsuansa Basic School in the Central Region, Sakina Amoah, has been crowned winner of the Nsuansa Basic School 2019/2020 beauty pageant.

She is now Face of Nsuansa 2019/2020, and came top in a competition that saw 10 girls exhibit their talents in the pageant.
Hannah Frimpong, a Form Two student and Priscilla Botwe, a Form One student, were the first and second runners-up respectively.

They performed traditional and  highlife dances and modelled to the delight of the audience.
They also answered questions on HIV/AIDS and Girl-Child Education.


The theme for the programme was: “Unearthing the hidden talent of the Girl-child.” 


It attracted some chiefs and elders in the area, the Agona West Educational Directorate Girl-Child Coordinator, Ms Helina Arthur, and the Assembly Member for Agona Ahamadonko, Nsuansa Electoral  Area, Mr Benjamin Acquah.


Presenting the winners with awards, Ms Arthur commended the Headteacher of the school, Mr Frederick Ofosu-Baah, and the school’s Girl-Child facilitators, Mr Don-Johnson Akyea Wiredu, and Mrs Mary Andoh, for putting together the programme.
She used the occasion to advise young girls to concentrate on their books to be able to pursue their dreams as future leaders of the country.


Ms Arthur emphasised that it was wrong for young girls to engage in sexual activities of any kind, noting that it could jeopardise their future.


“The benefits of this type of contest is to build up the confidence, self-esteem and public speaking skills in the girl-child,” she explained.
