Rotary Club of Kumasi inducts new president

Mrs Marilyn OwusuThe First Lady President of the Rotary Club of Kumasi District 9102, Rotarian Mrs Marilyn Owusu, has been inducted into office at a ceremony in Kumasi.
She was inducted into office by the former President of the club, Rotarian S. O. Asiamah. Mrs Owusu took over from Rotarian Dr Oteng Amoako.

The ceremony also coincided with the induction of six new members into the club.

The new members are Rotarians Emmanuel Adu Boahene, Francis Tetteh Ahwah, King Wisdom Jawah, Mark Mills, E. Ohene and Rotarian Ms Margaret Nyarko.

Inducting the members into the club, Mrs Owusu said the Rotary Club was neither a political organisation, religious body nor charitable organisation, yet its duties and objectives exemplified the charity and sacrifices to the needy in the country, especially in the rural areas.

She said the major objectives of the club were to support the efforts of the government to promote education, effective management of sanitation and the provision of good drinking water for people in the rural areas.
