Other renovation works included the replacement of all broken louvers, ceiling fans in the ward, fixing air condition in the nurses’ resting room, as well as replacing all curtain rods and curtains at the ward.

Additionally, the club did some painting works in and outside the ward as well as fixing new mosquito nets in the ward.

In a brief remarks, the Vice President of the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone, Mr Carlis Arko said the renovation works form part of the activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the club.

He expressed the hope that the ward will help to improve the healthcare of children in the area, indicating that the club will continue to support the nsawam hospital.

He said the renovation was solely funded by the Accra-Labone Club, saying that the club has outlined several activities to mark its 20th anniversary.

The Deputy Director of Nursing Services of the Nsawam Government hospital, Madam Rosephilo Adomah, commended the club for the gesture, saying “It is with great pride that I commend you for being a part of the world’s solution and not problems.”

For her, “maintaining quality healthcare, requires a serene and beautiful environment”, hence the refurbishing of the ward was in the right direction.

She also urged the club to help the hospital to expand the children’s ward, pointing out that the 30-bed capacity children’s ward was woefully inadequate, considering the huge number of cases it receives on a daily basis.
