Rebecca Foundation and COTVET donate machines and equipment to hairdressers and seamstresses

The Rebecca Foundation and COTVET have donated some machines and equipment to some hairdressers and seamstresses across the country to enhance their businesses during this COVID-19 era.

The donation was done in response to a request made by the Hairdressers and Beauticians Association in January to the First lady of Ghana, Mrs Rebecca Naa Okaikor Akufo-Addo who is also the Principal Person of COTVET.

In all, about 32 individuals benefited from the gesture across the 16 regions of the country. The items included sewing machines and hair dryers.

Making the donation on behalf of the First lady and The Rebecca Foundation, Mrs Akosua Newman, Director of Operations at the Office of The First lady said the Rebecca Foundation is determined to contribute to enriching lives of women as well as to support individuals grow their businesses.

"I am glad to have this wonderful collaboration with COTVET and I know this machines will go a long way to help support your dreams and help alleviate the burdens on you during this trying moments," she said.

Mrs. Akosua Newman also took the opportunity to entreat them to also continue to observe the protocols associated with the COVID-19 and always stay safe.

"I entreat you all to take good care of yourself and adhere to all the various protocols associated with COVID-19 since we are not in ordinary times," she said.
