Rawlings' mother alive

The office of former President Jerry John Rawlings says it has taken note of an unfortunate rumour making the rounds about Madam Victoria Agbotui, mother of the former President.

A section of the media is reporting her death, but the office says “Madam Agbotui is alive, hale and hearty”.

Officers told Graphic Online the old lady is neither ill nor on admission in any facility and urged members of the public to disregard the reports.

Madam Agbotui, whom Rawlings never ceases to credit with his upbringing, turns 100 years in a few months.
