President John Dramani Mahama has presented a variety of food items to inmates of the Schoonhven Cured Leper’s Village in Ho.

The items comprised 20 bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, bags of beans and maize, cartons of fish and bags of gari.

The intervention was to support the feeding of the 120 cured lepers who were only offered a meal daily.

The chief of the village, Togbe Jacob Ezor, said the donation was timely since their stock of food had finished for the past 10 days.

Making the presentation on behalf of the President, the Minister of Transport, Mrs Dzifa Ativor, said the President took cognisance of the plight of the inmates.

She called for prayers for the presidency for wisdom to be able to manage the challenges facing the nation particularly in the energy sector.

Madam Rose Axovi, who received the food items on behalf of the cured lepers, expressed gratitude to the President.
