President begins 5-day visit to Western, Central regions

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will begin a five-day tour of the Western and Central regions today.

Between today and Wednesday, he will be interacting with the chiefs and people of Bibiani, Sefwi  Wiaso, Wassa Akropong, Tarkwa, Half Assini, Atuabo and Axim before heading to Sekondi and Takoradi.

A statement issued by the Director of Communications, Mr Eugene Arhin, said the President would launch COCOBOD’s Cocoa Spraying programme while at Sefwi Wiawso and make a brief stopover at Denkyira Obuasi before proceeding to Wasa Akropong for a durbar of chiefs and people.

While in the Western Region, it said President Akufo-Addo would visit the Ghana Gas Plant, the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and also interact with traders at the Market Circle, Takoradi as well as pay courtesy calls on a number of paramount chiefs.

Central

It said in the Central Region, President Akufo-Addo would call on the Regional House of Chiefs, attend a durbar of chiefs at Twifo and Atti Morkwa, Essakyir and Awutu Senya.
