Vehicular traffic on the N6 highway linking Accra to Kumasi had to be redirected through Kyebi on Saturday following an accident at Birimso in the Eastern Region on the Apedwa to Bunso junction (Linda Dor) section of the highway.
Police from the MTTD diverted Kumasi bound traffic from Accra at Apedwa through Kyebi while the Accra bound traffic from Kumasi was diverted at Nsutam through Kyebi.
The accident, involving an articulated truck, resulted in a complete blockade of the road for both Accra and Kumasi-bound traffic, according to a police advisory issued on July 18.
Officers from the Eastern South Regional MTTD team from Kyebi were at the scene for the temporary diversion.
The diversion was effective from 10:00 am.
Motorists and other road users were advised to cooperate with police officers on the ground.
