The three were alleged to have connived in the shooting incident of June 27, 2017 which caused injuries to the head of one Osman Abdul Kareem, 17 during a street jam as part of this year’s Eid celebration.

The suspects are Sulleiman Musah, 19; Abdulai Umar, 18 and Lawson Hubert Joli, 19.

Briefing

Briefing the press on Tuesday, the Regional Commander of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Ken Yeboah said the suspects were picked up on July 20, 2017.

According to the police, Suleiman was alleged to have admitted that he shot the victim, Kareem but explained that Kareem was not the target.

According to the police, Suleiman said he specifically bought the locally manufactured pistol at a cost GH¢300.00 from one Fuseini to attack one Shatta with whom he had a brawl.

He told the police that he and Shatta have had a scuffle two months earlier and he knew that he [Shatta] would be at the street jam.

He, therefore, acquired the pistol to attack Shatta in revenge during the street jam.

Mr Yeboah said the suspects, after committing the act, fled the jurisdiction to Salaga where they were alleged to have involved in an armed robbery and had been declared wanted.

They are currently in police custody and assisting in investigation.
