‘Play active role in politics’

The Metropolitan Archbishop of the Kumasi Archdiocese of the Catholic Church, Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, has encouraged Christian women to actively engage in politics and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

He explained that being Christians should not deter them from taking up political appointments, adding that they should rather use their lifestyle and position to evangelise to people and spread the word of God widely.

The archbishop said this at the 7th Biennial Archdiocesan Conference of the Christian Mothers Association held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

About 700 members from 32 parishes in the Kumasi Archdiocese attended the conference which was on the theme: “A call to evangelisation, the role of a Christian mother”.
