Pathologist testifies on cause of Major Mahama’s death
The pathologist who performed the post-mortem on Major Maxwell Mahama says his observation suggests that the slain soldier died as a result of multiple injuries to the head.
He revealed that the death of the late soldier was due to the injuries to his skull and chest.

Dr. Lawrence Edusei made this known while testifying about his report in court today as part of the ongoing trial.
He further indicated that his observations revealed amongst other things that the deceased was bleeding excessively on the surface of the lungs and there was a collection of blood at the left side of the chest cavity.
While concluding that the slain major Maxwell Mahama’s death was unnatural, he indicated that he was not provided with the clothes the late Soldier wore before his death which would have helped him to easily identify the bullet holes.

The autopsy report was part of the summary of evidence contained in the bill of indictment filed at the District Court by the prosecution.
Major Mahama was killed at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region on May 29, 2017.
He was lynched when mistaken for a robber during his morning run.
Fourteen people, including William Baah, a former Assembly Member for Denkyira Obuasi, are standing trial in connection with the death of the military officer.
They have all pleaded not guilty to charges ranging from murder, abetment to murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The prosecution has so far called 12 witnesses which include colleagues of Major Mahama, residents of Denkyira Obuasi and police officers who were part of the investigations.
With Dr Edusei is the 13th witness, the prosecution is expected to close its case very soon.
The prosecutors intend to call 14 witnesses in all.
