Pastor asks Ghanaians to bury differences

The Head Pastor of the Assemblies of God, Liberty Centre, at Sunyani Estates, Rev. Joseph Danquah, has reiterated that election is not a period for conflict but a means of ensuring sound governance for the growth and development of all sectors of the Ghanaian society.

He called on Ghanaians to bury all ethnic, tribal, religious and partisan differences and prepare and go through the 2016 general election with a united front.

He said the nation was endowed with bountiful human and natural resources which should be well harnessed for the good of its people, and that could only be done by an effective and efficient system of governance, hence elections.

Rev. Danquah made the call at a civic education forum organised as part of activities lined up for his church’s first ever indoor convention held in Sunyani.

He urged the government and opposition parties to desist from politics of insult, blame game and wanton attacks on personalities, which have the tendency to plunge the nation into chaos and anarchy.

“It’s good to hear of wars, but it’s not good to see war; spilt blood could ruin the nation and destabilise its very existence”, he stated.

Rev. Danquah urged Ghanaians to “unite, prepare and ensure a peaceful election on November 7, 2016, so that we could continue to enjoy the blessings of God upon our land and share with other nations around us and the world at large”.
