Speaking to Accra based Citi FM, Mr Luguje said the private investors are both local and international firms and are keen to invest in the project.

He said they are waiting on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) environmental and social impact assessment report, which is critical for refining their proposals.

Mr. Luguje said while the government was yet to receive formal proposals, initial engagements with the interested parties are well underway.

“We’ve begun talks with over six companies, both local and international, who are interested in collaborating with the government on this venture,” Mr. Luguje stated.

He added, “We anticipate that within the next month or two, the EPA will release the report, which we will then present to these investors. This will allow them to move forward with concrete proposals regarding the nature of their partnership in building and operating the Port of Keta.”
