Nungua Warehouse Company Limited supports Nungua residents
A private company, Nungua Warehouse Company Limited (NWCL) has donated food items to some residents of Nungua, in the Greater Accra Region to support them during the lockdown.
The company distributed more than 700 bags of food items valued at a total cost of GH150,000.

Each package included a bag of rice, oil, sugar, canned fish, tomato paste and gari.
The beneficiaries were also given a pack of bottled water and hand sanitizer.
The donation formed part of the company efforts to support the vulnerable during this crucial time.
Some of the residents who had already gathered in their numbers before the arrival of the distributors rushed for the food when they started to share them violating the social distancing rule.
Supporting the vulnerable
Speaking on behalf of the company, the Lawyer of NWCL, Mr. Jones Bortey Applerh, said COVID 19 has called for strict measures including the lockdown to reduce the rate of community spread of the disease.
That, he said it was difficult for some individuals to stay home without food as the country tried to contain the pandemic.
That, he said called for corporate Ghana and other members of society to support the vulnerable ones.
Therefore, he said the NWCL which had operated within the community over the years decided to give back to community members at this crucial time.
He advised Ghanaians to adhere to precautionary measures, especially, social distancing in order not to be infected.
"If you do not comply, the virus will spread. We have to take the directive seriously because the Coronavirus has no cure yet", he stated.
Mr. Applerh further called on other companies, individuals and non-governmental organisations to also support the needy in such difficult times.
Mr. Applerh who expressed concern about the violation of the social distancing directive during the distribution of the food and added it was unfortunate that some of the residents did not comport themselves to ensure He, therefore, advised beneficiaries of such gestures to take precaution to avoid the spread of the disease.
Appreciation
Beneficiaries of the items expressed their gratitude to the management of the company.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Awuni Zakari thanked the company for the benevolence and called on others who are capable to emulate NWCL.
Another beneficiary who gave her name as Auntie Maamle also expressed her gratitude to the NWCL for supporting the vulnerable in these difficult times.
