A brief ceremony was held at the headquarters of the NSS yesterday (March 3) at which a plaque was presented to Mr Ussif.

The Managing Director of The Voiceless Media Consult, Chief Akilu Sayibu, said the decision to award the NSS boss was based on a meticulous research and monitoring activities conducted by his organisation over the past six months on the performance of appointed public officials.

He said the main motive was to encourage such appointed officials to go the extra mile to improve on service delivery at their organisations for the public good.

“The factors we considered were his leadership style; relationships with staff; the corporate culture of the organisation as well as personal achievements and contributions as a former Member of Parliament of Yagabo-Kubori Constituency,” he said.

Chief Sayibu eulogised Mr Ussif for the pivotal role he played in turning around the fortunes of the NSS since he was appointed as the Executive Director in 2017.

He noted that under the watch of Mr Ussif, the NSS had regained public confidence after years of being in the public space for bad reasons.

“Through his sterling leadership, the NSS received a boost in it public image due to the laudable operational innovations such as the introduction of new modules, digitization enrolment, system, paperless registration system, certificate delivery system among many others,” he said.

Mustapha Ussif, upon receipt of the award, expressed gratitude to the awarding organisation for the recognition and said it would motivate him to do more for the betterment of the scheme.

He dedicated the award to the entire staff and personnel of the scheme for their hard work and dedication to duty.

He also expressed gratitude to his two deputies - Gifty Oware-Aboagye (Deputy Executive Director, General Services) and Kwaku Ohene Gyan (Deputy Executive Director, Operations) for their unflinching support towards the realisation of the organisational dream.

“This award will serve as a wind in our sail and will propel us to deliver more to exceed expectations. We will therefore not relent on our effort to ensuring that the service experience is enhanced,” he said.

This recognition follows two other awards the Scheme has recently won under the leadership of Hon. Mustapha Ussif.
