Northern region police arrest three suspected armed robbers

Three suspected armed robbers are in the grips of the police in the Northern Region for allegedly attacking a resident of Gbintiri in the East Mamprusi Municipality on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

The suspects who robbed the victim, Limuna Agoligo of  Gh¢2000 and his motorbike have been identified as Karim Dansil 22 years, Kofi Banaba,21 years and Amidu Dikrorugu, 26 years.

The police retrieved an amount GH¢ 2,568, two locally manufactured guns, cartridges, two cutlasses, a double edge knife, a metal bar and four mobile phones from the suspects after a thorough search.

The Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr. Mohammed Yussif Tanko confirmed the incident to Graphic Online and said the suspects who were wearing mask attacked the victim at about 9:30pm at gun point on last Saturday.

He explained that, the victim who was able to identify the suspects during the attack by their voices reported the case to the Gbentiri chief who organized the youth in the community to arrest the suspects and handed them over to the police.
