New board members appointed for state-owned media

The National Media Commission (NMC) has appointed new members and Chairpersons of governing bodies of public corporations to manage the state-owned media.

This was done in consultation with the President and also in accordance with Article 168 of the 1992 Constitution and section 2(1)(e) of the National Media Commission Act, 1993 (Act 449), a statement from the NMC signed by the Executive Secretary, Mr George Sarpong announced on Monday.

It said the members of the governing board of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation are Mr Prince William Ankrah, Mr Oscar Bruce, Mr Mohammed Aminu Futa and Ms Rose Bulla. Mr Kwame Asante would serve as Chairman of the board.

Other members are, Dr Grace Ayensu Danquah, Prof Linus Abraham, Mr Kojo Mattah, Ms Jennifer Amanda Coffie and Maj Albert Don-Chebe (Rtd) as the Director-General.

For the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Prof. Omane Antwi is the Chairman, and members of the board are Hajj Mohammed Nii Kpakpo Addo, Dr Eric Oduro Osae, Mr Akwasi Owusu Agyeman and Ms Edith Dankwa.

Other members are Ms Elaine Sam Kwami, Emmanuel Anyang Abeka, Mr Solomon Twum Barimah and Mr Kenneth Ashigbey as the Managing Director.

Members of the governing board of New Times Corporation are Ms Rose Margaret Kpodo as Chairperson, and the members are Mr Nicholaus Kodzo Akyire, Ms Ruby Ivy Austin and Mr Zakaria Tanko Musah.

Others are Mr Andrew Danso-Aninkor, Mr Collins B. Essamuah, Sheila Minka Premo and Ms Carol Annan as Managing Director.

For the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the Chairman of the board is Dr Wilberforce Dzisah, and the members are Mr Enimil Ashong, Ms Joyce Ossei Agyekum and Prof Kwame Karikari.

Others are Mr Addoquaye Moffat, Mr Edmund Fianko and Mr Bernard Otabil as General Manager.
