The SEIP is a World Bank support to the government of Ghana in the form of a loan to improve secondary education in the country.

Objective of SEIP

A statement signed and issued by the Chief Director of the ministry, Mr Benjamin K. Gyasi explained that the project development objectives of the SEIP is improving access to secondary education in underserved districts and improving quality in some low-performing senior high schools (SHSs).

The statement explained that the GRM has been put in place in order to ensure that the implementation bottlenecks were promptly addressed.

“The GRM is to provide an avenue for all beneficiary stakeholders of the project; students, teachers, parents, community members, opinion leaders etc to air their grievances for quick resolution by officers, specially trained to address any issues raised,” the statement said.

How GRM work

Spelling out how GRM works, the statement said the stakeholders were to log their grievances through SMS or e-mail and the toll-free numbers.

“The grievances are logged on a dashboard and the specially trained officers forward the grievances to the appropriate officers; the feedback is sent to the trained officers, who send it to the stakeholders via SMS,” it stated.

The statement concluded by urging all schools, stakeholders and the general public to take note of the grievances avenue and feed the project managers with the relevant information to enable it better manage it with the overall goal of improving secondary education in the country.
