‘MASLOC fund not for party sympathisers’

The Chief Executive Officer of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Mrs Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, has said MASLOC is not a fund meant for party sympathisers but rather for business inclined people who needed financial assistance.

Mrs Attionu said this when she paid a familiarisation tour to the Volta Region to monitor some ongoing MASLOC projects in the region.

According to her, some people often went to the offices of the MASLOC and expected money to be given to them just because they were party sympathisers and believed the fund was a renumeration for services they had rendered to the party.

These people, she said, usually did not want to follow laid down procedures in accessing the fund and also most of those who were able to access the fund did not want to pay back.

She encouraged all MASLOC officials to step up their efforts in educating the people on how best they could access and utilise the fund in order to improve the living standards of beneficiaries.
