The items, made up of 10 cartons of 1.5-litre Bon Aqua mineral water, five crates of Malt drink, five crates of Guinness and 10 crates of assorted soft drinks worth GH¢500, were Mr Brewu's assistance to the regional branch of the GJA to celebrate its World Press Freedom Day.

Mr Brewu, who, for the past 10 years, had been assisting the Eastern Regional branch of the GJA in diverse ways, said his gesture formed part of the corporate social responsibility to the people.

He took the opportunity to appeal to Ghanaian journalists to give accurate and balanced reporting on the election petition currently before the Supreme Court so that the people would continue to enjoy peace in the country.

Mr  George Akwasi Larbi, branch chairman, on behalf of the regional branch, thanked Mr Brewu for the gesture and appealed to other organisations to assist the media in the region.

He urged the public to have confidence in the Ghanaian media, adding that members of the GJA would always give balanced and accurate reports on all issues for the development of the nation.
