Man, Nigerian, 24, sentence 20 years for kidnapping

 An Accra Circuit Court on Friday sentenced a 24- year- old Nigerian to 20 years imprisonment for kidnapping, robbery and causing harm.

Isaac Aigbona who was said to have conspired with one Charles all at large to rob and kidnap a 46-year-old woman at Achimota Mile '7'.

Isaac pleaded guilty to all the charges laid against him, Charles is also being track for his arrest.

The court presided over by Mr. Aboagye Tandoh sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment with hard labor.

The two accused persons managed to wound Victim Emmanuel Botchway who happens to be the house boy to the complainant.

Prosecutor’s case
The facts as presented by the police prosecutor, Chief Inspector Samuel Ahiabor was that on January 4, 2019 at about 9:30 pm Isaac Aigbona and Charles all at large entered the residence of the complainant without her knowledge which they attacked immediately she got to her apartment at Achimota Mile '7' in Accra.

The complainant handed her handbag and Isaac took GH02, 000.00, USS1.400.00 and also removed her gold engagement ring and necklace, the prosecution said.

He said the victim unknowingly bump into them, Isaac on noticing him, signaled Charles to go and ordered him under knife point to go down.

As the victim complied to it, Isaac went for a piece of metal which used to hit victim Emmanuel severally on his head until he fell unconscious in the pool of blood, the prosecution said.

Isaac and his complies blind folded the complainant and forced her into her Nissan Murano 4x4 car and drove off from her residence to a bush around Amasaman Agric, the prosecution said.

He said as they were trying to contact the complainant's husband who was in Kumasi for him to send money before they release her, a Police patrol team chanced on the vehicle and quickly rushed there.

Charles managed to escape with the money and jewelries but Isaac was however arrested while the victim is undergoing treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital Emergency Ward, the prosecution said.

Effort are being made to track Charles for his arrest.
