Man nabbed for attempting to kill nephew

According to the police, the fetish priest told Tawiah that he did not use human beings to perform his rituals. He, therefore, asked the galamsey operator to fast for 15 days.

Tawiah, he police commander said, however, fasted for only three days and went to see the priest to tell him that he could not fast for the 15 days as he had requested.

Rather, Tawiah told the fetish priest that he wanted the priest to use a human being to perform the ritual since he was ready to provide that for the ritual. Not happy with the suggestion of the suspect, Mr Mante said, the fetish priest alerted the police about the intention of the suspect.

Mallam Ganiwu then feigned interest in the plan of the suspect and asked Tawiah to bring the human being and a knife to kill him at an arranged place.

The police said at about 9 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013, the Mallam informed the police about the arrival of the suspect with his nephew at the designated place and his arrest was effected.
