The items, donated with support from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and some benevolent organisations, included locally-produced rice, soft drinks and  frozen chicken.

Ms Arthur, dressed in  Muslim fashion to symbolise the unity between Muslims and Christians in Ghana, said the donation was to help the office of the National Chief Imam and Muslims in general, to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul Fitr which marks the end of the Muslim month of fasting.

“When we patronise Made-in-Ghana products, we create jobs for our youth and help boost our  economy,” she said.

Ms Arthur  urged Muslims and all  Ghanaians  to  pray for peace  as the country gets  closer to the next general elections.

She was in January this year  officially  selected by the Ministry of Trade and Industry as the face of its  Made-in-Ghana  Campaign launched by President  John Mahama in November, 2015.

Her role, according to the Ministry, included serving as a role model for the campaign, creating awareness on Made- in- Ghana goods and services on her various platforms and participating in events related to the Made-in-Ghana campaign.

Receiving the items, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu,  thanked the Made-in-Ghana Campaign Ambassador and the Ministry of Trade and Industry for their generosity toward the Muslim community.

He said Ghana was blessed with large tracts of fertile land and urged the youth to embrace  agriculture at this time of  job scarcity for young people.

He said Christians and Muslims have traditionally lived in peace with one another for years and called on the youth to eschew violence as the country prepares for the November polls.

Sheikh Dr. Sharubutu  asked  politicians  to avoid the use of intemperate language to help preserve the peace of the country.

Ms Arthur received two nominations with her Kyere Me Kwan album at the 2015  Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Her latest work, a single titled Nyame Enndi Ye Abro (God Won’t Forsake Us)  is to help bolster  the Made-in –Ghana campaign.
