Presenting the items, the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama commended the directors of the various homes for their dedication to duty and love for children.

She advised the children to study hard for them to become good citizens in future and contribute to the socio economic development of the country.

 Continuous support

The director of the Frankmay Home, Mrs Mary Wuntimah Apus, expressed her appreciation to the First Lady for her continued support to the home which had enabled the caretakers and management to take good care of the children.

She said the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area had allocated four plots of land to the home and appealed to the First Lady to assist them in developing the land.

She also appealed for means of transport to facilitate the movement of the children and staff of the home within the region.

According to her, currently one of the inmates of the home had made it to the University of Cape Coast to pursue a degree course, while two others were in the Techiman Nursing School and four of them were in senior high schools.

 Passionate appeal

She made a passionate appeal to corporate institutions, non-governmental organisations and all well-meaning Ghanaians to come to the aid of the home.

At the Bethsaida Home, the Director, Pastor Gilbert Ayaric, also thanked the First Lady for her support to the home since she became the First Lady.

He said her continued support had helped the home to cater for a number of children over the years.

Without that help, he said, the home would have been closed down by now.

Pastor Ayaric prayed to God to continue to bless the First Lady so that she would continue to be a blessing to women and children, especially, the less privileged in the society.
