Living Streams International donates PPE to La Wireless Cluster of Schools
The General Overseer of the Living Streams International Church, Rev. Dr Ebenezer Markwei, has donated personal protective equipment (PPE) worth GH¢10,000 to the La Wireless Cluster of Schools to augment government’s efforts at fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in schools.
The items included 1,400 pieces of branded face masks,1,400 disposable face masks, nine Veronica cans, 20 gallons of liquid soap, five gallons of hand sanitiser and 20 rolls of disposable hand paper towels.

The donation formed part of the general overseer’s 60th birthday celebration.
Rev. Dr Ebenezer Markwei also made a financial commitment of GH¢10,000 to help change the roofing sheets of some of the classrooms.
The items were handed over to the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) for the Adobetor Circuit, Mrs Millicent A.K Lawson Adokpa yesterday.
The general overseer was in the company of his wife and members of the social responsibility arm of the church.
Other interventions
Rev. Dr Markwei said the church had over the past 15 years embarked on medical outreaches each year within the La community where its headquarters is based.
He said with the prevalence of COVID-19, the church, as part of its social responsibility functions, prioritised the protection of schoolchildren against the pandemic, hence the donation of the PPE.
“The health of a child is so important and we owe them a responsibility to do something to help them preserve their health for the future.
“The children and everybody in the church knows that I have a passion for La. I, therefore, commit myself to touch La with the gospel and to work as part of my social responsibility to lift up La and make sure it becomes a place to be celebrated, so help me God,” Rev. Dr Markwei said.
Gratitude
Ms Adokpa commended the church for the kind gesture and pledged that her office would ensure that the items were used prudently together with what had been provided by the government.
“I am very grateful to the Man of God, particularly for the cash donation. These roofs have been here for long and indeed need to be changed,” she said.
The officer further called on corporate entities not to hesitate in supporting the school to complement the government’s efforts in ensuring effective teaching and learning.
