Liberian Veep commends Marshallans

The Vice-President of Liberia, Mr Joseph Nyumah Boakai, has acknowledged the positive role of members of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall in Liberia.

He said organisations such as the Knights and Ladies of Marshall had worked with the government to keep Liberia peaceful.

Courtesy call

Mr Boakai was speaking during a courtesy call on him by a delegation from the Supreme Council and the Grand Court of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall last Monday.

The delegation, which was in Liberia for the consecration of Liberia as a State Council and State Court, was led by the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro Ernest Amoako-Arhen and the Grand Lady, Most Respected Lady, Sis Alice Stella Ayebi. 

Other members of the delegation were Past Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro James Adomako, the Deputy Supreme Knight, W/Bro Ambrose Yennah, the Supreme Secretary, Sir Kt Bro Joseph Damoah Erskine, the Supreme Propagandist, W/Bro Charles Cobb, and an Assistant Youth Co-ordinator, W/Bro Thomas Asiedu. 

The rest are a Past Grand Lady, Most Respected Lady, Sis Victoria Yellu, Assistant Grand Secretary, RL Sis Felicity Mary Tattrah, the Grand Propagandist, Respected Lady Sis Cynthia Baffour, and the Grand Youth Co-ordinator, RL Sis Gloria Bramson.

It was also attended by Liberia’s State Grand Knight, W/Bro Daniel Kwabo and his deputy, W/Bro Gregory Mieh, as well as State Noble Lady, Respected Lady, Sis Emilia Ayomanor and officers from the State Council and Southern Region. 

Positive impact

Mr Boakai thanked the delegation for visiting the country and helping to impact the Liberian society through the activities of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall. 

He said the Catholic Church had been active and supportive of the government’s activities describing the Church as a partner in progress.

For his part, the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro Amoako-Arhen, commended the Vice-President of Liberia for granting the Marshallan delegation audience and assured him that the Noble Order would continue to offer prayers on his behalf and also for Liberia as the country got ready for a crucial transition. 

He told Mr Boakai that members of the Noble Order would preach peace and love during these times of elections in Liberia. Sir Kt Bro Amoako-Arhen commended brothers and sisters in Liberia for working so hard to bring the Marshallan Order to greater heights and public acknowledgement in Liberia.

The Supreme Knight informed the Vice-President about the consecration of a State Council and State Court for Liberia while assuring him that charitable works by members of the Order in Liberia would continue. 

He later presented a copy of the 90th Anniversary Brochure of the Noble Order to the Vice-President.
