Leaders urged to impact followers positively

The Bishop of Obuasi, the Most Rev. John Yaw Afoakwah, has challenged those seeking to be leaders to make a difference in the lives of the people they intend to lead.

He said from the history of the salvation of men, it always took the selflessness of one person to bring change in the lives of the people they led and cited the examples of Abraham through to the prophets to Jesus Christ to illustrate his point.

He was delivering a Homily in a Mass he co-celebrated with 12 priests after consecrating a twin-temple for the Knights and Ladies of Marshall at Obuasi. The multi-purpose twin-temple has a chamber each for the Knights and Ladies, offices, sacristies, dressing rooms, kitchen and washrooms.

Under the leadership of the Grand Knight of Council 14, Bro. Hubert Osei-Wusuansah and the Noble Lady of Court 7, Sis Catherine Osei-Wusuansah, the Marshallans at Obuasi built the twin-temple within one-and-a-half years.

Great leaders

Most Rev. Afoakwah said the construction of the twin-temple was a sign of what great leaders could do, stressing that “one person can make a difference”.

He said leadership that brought people together could perform wonders, adding that one’s spirituality could be measured in what he or she used their resources for.

He said it was not worth it for one to have the resources but could not make them to benefit others.

“Let us be channel of blessings to other people with the resources God has blessed us with,” he urged.

“Whatever the Lord has blessed us with, let us extend it to others and God will bless us abundantly,” Most Rev. Afoakwah urged  further.

Commendation

The Supreme Knight of the Knights of Marshall, Sir Kt Bro. Ernest Amoako-Arhen, who was also in attendance, commended the Grand Knight and Noble Lady for their initiative and support towards the growth and expansion of the society at Obuasi.

He also commended members of the Marshallan society at Obuasi and urged them to unite behind their leaders.

The Grand Knight, Bro. Osei-Wusuansah, said the consecration of the twin-temple was the greatest gift to the global Marshallan fraternity as it climaxed their 90th anniversary celebrations.
